For All Piercings
Keep You New Piercing Clean and Dry:
Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your ears or piercing earrings.
3x a Day:
Gently clean the front and back of your piercing with a cotton bud soaked in Inverness Ear Care Solution 3x every day.
Turn Turn Turn:
Gently rotate your piercing earrings completely at least 3x’s a day, ideally after you have applied your Inverness Ear Care Solution this will prevent the posts from adhering to the ear.
You just had your ears pierced, now what? Use these tips to help you through the healing period.

Leave the piercing earrings in for 12 weeks
Always be sure to wash your hands thoroughly before touching your ears or earrings.
Gently slide your earring back and forth while cleaning to help the solution reach inside your piercing.
Be extra careful not to catch your piercing earring when brushing your hair.
Avoid irritating your piercing with products such as hair spray, shampoo, soap, perfume, or cosmetics. After using any of these, clean your piercing with your Inverness Ear Care Solution.
Warm Weather Tip
Protect your piercing from the sun by wearing a wide-brimmed hat. Avoid getting sunscreen in your piercing. If you do, rinse with clean water, and reapply your Inverness Ear Care Solution.
Before you get pierced, ask if you are permitted to protect a new piercing with a plaster or sports tape during games and practice. If not, plan to have your ears pierced in the off-season. Cleanse immediately after swimming or exercising.
What not to do
Do NOT remove your earrings during the healing period.
Do NOT toy with your earrings too much- the less you touch with your piercing, the faster it will heal.
Do NOT wear turtlenecks or tight-neck shirts until your piercings have healed.
Do NOT forget to cleanse your ears immediately after using hair products or perfume. This will help you avoid product build up and irritation.
Do NOT forget about your newly-pierced ears during ordinary daily activities. Avoid bumping your ears when changing clothes, putting on your glasses, using your phone, or styling your hair.
Do NOT wear heavy earrings for 6 months to a year after your piercing has healed.

After your 6 week healing period, you can change your earrings to other styles. For the next 6 months, do not go more than 24H without an earring or your piercing may close.
After your 12 week healing period is complete, you can change to other styles. For the next 6 months, wear earrings 24/7 or your piercing may close.
- Continue to clean your piercing site and earrings with your aftercare solution as needed.
- For the first 6 months after your piercing heals, stick to wearing light stud style earrings.
